Progress has still been slow, though not as slow as last week. I’ve done at least 1 hour a day for 5 days straight (so 5 hours) and I’ve only just finished the first draft. I think there will be at least 3 drafts which I’m forcing myself to get done by the end of next week (12/03/2016). The next article will be about NancyFx. I’m hoping that evaluating another API framework like Nancy will give me a more objective viewpoint on ServiceStack.
In terms of planning my week, I have been rigorously documenting every minute of every day for the last week. That’s everything from when I wake up to when I go to bed, including “Chill out” hours and “XCom 2” game sessions. I’m thinking if I want to be more productive I’m going to have to make sure I limit my “Chill out”/game sessions.
Focusing on the future
I’ve been thinking about how these code reviews are improving my knowledge base. Seeing how far I’ve come in my understanding of ServiceStack is really great – I’m hoping that after a year of reviews I’ll have a lot more API development knowledge as well as some experience with cross platform development frameworks/tools for phone apps. It’s still early days, of course, but I continue to see CodeReviewer.co.uk as a great move for me professionally.
